Pedestal Birdhouse Mini

HI Everyone!

I love to alter bird cages and birdhouses this time of the year. I found these adorable pedestal birdhouses at my local Michaels and had to alter one for my mom. I wanted to add pictures but wasn't able to open the back, therefore I created the roof as my mini album. I want to add pictures of my mom, sister and I on the roof pages. I first painted the entire pedestal birdhouse with Clover acrylic paint, crackle medium and then painted Vintage White acrylic paint on top to give it a crackle finish. I also took my Tim Holtz Retractable Scratcher to make it look as though its been outside for a long time. On the pedestal I first added I Am Roses six Small Soft Green 2 Tone Maple Leaves and sprayed Lindy Stamp Gang's Scintillating Silver to give it shimmer. I then layered on top a gorgeous White Rose that I sprayed with LSG Wild Honeysuckle Coral and Glitz Cactus Gold. I also added two White Cherry Blossoms and Small White Gardenias that I sprayed with LSG Fuzzy Navel Peach with Glitz Scintillating Silver. I also fussy cut the banners on the Prima Song Bird Collection design Paper and used them as a ladder. Although birds don't climb on ladders, I loved how it looked. heehee For the birdhouse I added the design paper to create my roof and mini album. I added some of my favorite ivory lace trim from Hobby Lobby then layered Karla's flower trim and bird. On front of the birdhouse I added the White Short Paper Flowers Spray which I sprayed with LSG Scintillating Silver, small white gardenia that was sprayed with LSG Wild Honeysuckle Coral and a white Cherry Blossom sprayed also with LSG Scintillating Silver. I fussy cut one of the images that had the sentiment beautiful which was perfect, because my mom is beautiful inside and out. On the back I added the design paper with the three birds. Each bird symbolizes my mom, sister and I. I will add pictures of the three of us to the mini. I hope she loves it as much as I loved creating this.

Chalkboard Stand

Hi Everyone!

My girls love it when their sister Natalie bakes them yummy treats. I thought it would be fun for Natalie to have a chalkboard where she can write what she's going to bake for everyone and display it on the kitchen counter. This was another project I wanted to make when I designed the AccuCut Locker Album die. I think it so fun to see restaurants write their " today's special" on the chalkboard and now you can create your own for your kitchen. The Chalkboard Stack from DCWV was perfect for this project. I instantly fell in love with this paper stack when I first seen it. The new BazzillBasicsPaper's Vintage Marketplace is so pretty and went perfect too. I just love how ThePiecebyPiece trims coordinate so well with this collection. My girls can't wait for Natalie to write down her first treat she's going to bake for them.

Shadow Box Cards

I just LOVE the Sitting Cute and Sitting Lovely stamp sets by The Greeting Farm. Both stamp sets are so adorable. After creating a card for my husband with the Sitting Casual stamp set, I couldn't stop and had to make more. heehee I thought it would cute to use other Greeting Farm stamps on the adorable chair, sofa and bench. There were several stamps where Miss Anya and Cheeky Cherry were sitting and just was perfect. These stamps will also be perfect with my latest AccuCut Custom Shape Pros Custom Vintage Sofa die that I designed and can't wait to get it. One of my favorite dies from AccuCut Craft are my Shadow Box Portrait and Landscape Dies that were designed by Vicki Chrisman. Both stamp sets are perfect with these dies. I can't wait to make another one using the Sitting Casual stamp set. These are definitely fun to make.

From the Man Cave Step Card

I just adore the Greeting Farm Sitting Casual stamp set and had to create a card for my hubby. I wanted my card to have a wooden floor with a rug and a wall with a picture frame. I thought it would be perfect to create a step card. It was really super fun to create and I love how it turned out. For the wooden floor, I used the design paper from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody paper pad and added a fabric blue rosette flower from Frog Feathers Etsy store. I then stamped the chair onto the Glitz French Kiss design paper and stamped his shirt and shoes on the MME Howdy Doody design paper as well. I wanted Ian's jeans to look like an actual pair of jeans, therefore I stamped the image onto a pair of jeans my daughter no longer wears. I colored both his hair and skin using my Copic markers. For the back wall I created a frame using my Spellbinders Labels Three die and stamped the sentiment "From the Man Cave" onto some design paper and punched it out using my Stampin Up! Curly Label Punch. On the corner I added I Am Roses gorgeous Mini Blue Roses, Small White Gardenia and Blue Cherry Blossoms. I will definitely create more projects with this stamp set. Its just too adorable.

Polaroid Perfect

Hi Everyone!

As many of you already know, Tim Holtz is my all time favorite. I admire his creative style and love that he sets no limit to his imagination. I've been wanting to create this project for a couple of weeks now but had been searching for a Polaroid camera and was lucky to find two at my local antique store. I had designed a Polaroid film die cut for my AccuCut Locker Album Die and it was perfect. I was so lucky to have met Tim at CHA. This is my second time meeting him and he's the sweetest person ever. I precut this Polaroid die cut knowing I was going to add our picture to it, but it wouldn't be complete without his autograph too. I made sure it was die cut with light weight chipboard because I wanted to distress it after using his Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. I altered the Polaroid camera with my favorite Crowded Attic collection by Tim and loved how it turned out. I didn't want to cover the entire camera, so I only adhered the design paper to the top and front of the camera. I embellished it with some of my Tim Holtz favorites which were the Fractured Doll, Word Key and Cork Vial filled with his Ball Chain. I had several vintage Domino pieces and added two Scrabble pieces to spell out his initials...TH. I also added two dices that I hot glued on top of one another and added a mini bird cage charm. I then fussy cut two butterflies from the paper stack and added one on top of the camera and one on top of the bird cage. My favorite part is our picture together which I adhered to the camera to look as though the picture was just taken. I'm so happy with how it turned out and this is definitely one of my favorites.

Locker Album Die Projects from CHA 2012

Hi Everyone!
Here's my three projects I created for the Winter CHA 2012 AccuCut Craft's booth. The Locker Album Die is my very die I designed for AccuCut, therefore this was very exciting and fun for me to create. Below are the three projects I created.

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of a locker at school, are books. This is what inspired me to bind this album as a book. As you can see the Locker book doesn't close all the way because its intended to be a display. I gathered pictures of Ariana and her friends in High School and embellished the Locker book using Pink Paislee's Daily Junque collection along with the coordinating die cuts. I had fun layering each pages with the design paper, dies cuts and embellishments. I also incorporated the die cuts from the die. My favorite piece would have to be the Polaroid film. You can use just plain white card stock or add design paper to make each film unique. This is definitely a wonderful keepsake for Ariana to look back at and enjoy.

When designing this die, not only did I design this as a School theme album but also a Sports theme too. Here I create a Locker album of my nephew Jacob that's been playing Flag Football these past several years. The paper collection I used is DCWV High School stack and Page Kit. I love page kits. Its always fun to have coordinating stickers and die cuts to go with the design papers. I really loved the pictures my sister had taken of Jacob. Its always nice to create with action shot photos.

My niece Alyssa's in cheerleading and I wanted to create a 3D Locker. This is was my very first 3D Locker I created. I add pictures on outside, but also wanted to add a mini cheerleading outfit inside the locker. I placed AccuCut's Clear Plastic Sheet on top so you can see the outfit inside. I placed a 3M plastic hook to for the outfit. I purchased an adorable cheerleading outfit from Build A Bear which turned out to be a perfect size. Not only will Alyssa have a keepsake of her in Cheerleading, but also a cute lil outfit to look at.

March IARCC

Hi Everyone!

Come join us and participate in the I Am Roses GREEN, GOLD & GLITTER contest at I Am Roses Challenge Blog. Be sure to stop by the blog for all the details.

For my project, I created a layout of my daughter Ashley. She lost her other front tooth the other night and loved how cute she look with her two missing front teeth. I used the Coral Couture Stack by DCWV and adhered one of the beautiful design papers that had tons of glitter on the images onto a 12 x 12 medium weight chipboard. I distressed the edges using my favorite Tim Holtz distressing tool then distressed the edges with Ranger's Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. I took a number 8 round paint brush and dipped the brush into my Wake Me Up Before You Go Go Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst spray and took my bone folder and tapped the end of the brush to give a splatter background and love how it looks. This is one of my favorite background techniques and will share a video soon showing how I create this background effect. I then layered Ashley's photo with some pre-cut design papers strips and also a die cut from the paper stack. On top of the CUTE sentiment, I adhered a beautiful distress white frame and some Recollections bling on the side that I picked up at my local Michael's. On the R21 - 1 White Flower, I sprayed Lindy Stamp Gang's Starburst Spray in Grab a Guy Gold. I sprayed three different sprays for the R40 - 70 White Flower using LSG's Starburst Spray in Marigold Yellow Orange,Winter Jasmine Gold and the Glitz Spritz in Cactus Gold to add extra gold shimmer. The T 25 - 152 White Puffy Semi Rose Bud was sprayed with LSG's Winter Jasmine Gold and for the ZQL 0- 151 White Leaves I sprayed my favorite LSG's Ponderosa Pine Olive. For the finishing touches, I added some light orange trim and layered an off white trim on top. The butterflies I fussy cut from one of the die cuts from the Coral Couture stack. Don't forget to join the fun and look forward to all your projects.
