I had hosted a giveaway on my YouTube Channel (livelovescrap) last month to celebrate my 2000 subscribers. My husband had to select one winner to win a custom mini of their choice based one their answer to my question. My question was " What got you started into creating mini albums"? There were a lot of comments and I wanted to thank my hubby for reading every single one. It was too cute because he went into another room to read the comments, then he narrowed it down to his favorites and then chose Nadia's. Here's Nadia's answer to my question:
I'm a mini newb but I started making minis because I LOVE the touch, feel & smell (ahem...stazon & bubble gum-scented stamp cleaner) of scrapbooking. Embellies no longer hide behind plastic. Colors pop! Feathers, fibers and flocking can be petted. A mini invites a person to interact with it, by opening up secret doors & pulling out journal tags or hidden pictures. It allows the scrapbook artist to get super creative in the process and make some serious executive decisions. It's fun for everyone.
Our kids are never too young to have party favors. I thought this would make a cute party favor for our teenage girls. I purchased the Sizzix Telephone Diary Originals Die(Retired) from Ebay(Seller: sizzix_outlet). The actual size measures 3 x 2 1/4". Its such an adorable die.
I came across this Key Box while I was shopping at Michaels and new instantly what I wanted to create. I wanted to create a house and add a mini album inside. Each pages symbolizes what we are all passionate about. This was a fun project I can display and share with my family and friends when they come and visit.
I'm excited to announce that I was invited by Lindy's Stamp Gang to be on their Design Team. Tracey had personally invited me and I'm so honored to show case their Moon Glow products. Here's my first project as a Design Team member.
I created a photo frame with the Alterations Baroque Die with Medium weight chipboard using the negative piece(Chipboard measures 5 3/8" x 5 7/8"). To create the frame I applied the Starburst Stains (Daubber) using Cattail Copper Brown, Black Orchid Silver, and Cocoa Bean Copper then edged the sides with Black Orchid Silver. The burlap flower I sprayed Moon Shadow Mist in the Gossamer Gold. The flowers I stained with the Starburst Stain in Saxifrage Olive Copper. The diecut leaf I stained with Sea Mint Green Starburst Stain. On both of the Vintage ladies, I applied mica powder in Glittering Gold using my aqua pen.
